Doctrine

We believe that the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is verbally inspired by the Holy Spirit, is inerrant in the original manuscripts, and is the infallible and authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20, 21).

  • We believe that the one triune God exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. They are co-eternal in being, co-equal in power and glory, and have the same attributes and perfections (Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
  • We believe that Adam, created in the image of God, was tempted by Satan, and fell. Because of Adam's sin, all men inherit a sinful nature, are totally depraved, and need to be regenerated by the Holy Spirit for salvation (Romans 3:9-12, 23; Ephesians 2:1-3).
  • We believe that Jesus Christ is God who became man, without ceasing to be God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. He died vicariously, shedding His blood as man's substitutionary sacrifice, rose bodily on the third day, and after 40 days ministry, ascended to heaven, where He is presently exalted at the Father's right hand (Isaiah 7:14; John 1:1, 2, 14; Romans 3:24, 25).
  • We believe that salvation consists of the remission of sins and the imputation of Christ's righteousness and is the gracious gift of eternal life received by faith alone, apart from works (Acts 4:12; Ephesians 2:8-10; 1 Peter 1:18, 19).
  • We believe that the Holy Spirit is the supernatural agent of regeneration who baptizes all believers into the Body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption (Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13, 14).
  • We believe that the church, the body of Christ, consists of all those who are born again and have been baptized into Christ at the moment of conversion. These believers are eternally secure and are kept by the power of God (1 Corinthians 12:12, 13; John 10:27-30; Philippians 1:6).
  • We believe that the two ordinances of the church are baptism and the Lord's table (communion). Baptism is by immersion and is the believer's step of obedience, as well as a sign of identification with Christ and His church. The Lord's table is the celebration of the Lord's death until He comes and is preceded by careful self-examination (Romans 6:3-5; 1 Corinthians 11:23-32).
  • Regarding Spiritual gifts
    • We believe that God bestows spiritual gifts at the moment of regeneration and that these gifts are for the purpose of edifying the body (1 Corinthians 12:7; 1 Peter 4:10, 11).
    • We believe that the gift of tongues, miracles, and healing were temporary sign gifts for the first century church. We do believe God continues to heal and perform miracles (1 Corinthians 13:8-13).
  • Regarding End Times
    • We believe that the return of Jesus Christ at the Rapture is imminent, personal and pre-tribulational. He will meet His church in the air, and "so shall we ever be with the Lord" (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).
    • We believe that after the seven year period of tribulation, Christ will visibly return with His church to judge the nations and establish His 1,000 year Kingdom reign upon the earth (Zechariah 14:4-11; Revelation 19:11-16).
  • We believe that believers will be raised to everlasting life and blessedness in heaven and that the non-believers will be raised to everlasting and conscious punishment in hell (Matthew 25:46; John 5:28, 29; 11:25, 26).
  • We believe that Christ commanded believers to go into all the world and preach the Gospel. We are to make disciples, baptizing them and teaching them the Word of God. This is considered the "great commission" of the church (Matthew 28:18-20).
