Grief Share

Grief Share A Brief Video Introduction

GriefShare features biblical, Christ-centered teaching that focuses on grief topics associated with the death of a loved one. The video seminar features nationally respected grief experts and real-life stories of people, followed by a small group discussion about what was viewed.

Your bereavement experience may be recent or not so recent. You will find encouragement, comfort, and help in grieving the death of a spouse, child, parent, sibling, other family member or friend. No matter what the cause of your loved one's death, this is an opportunity to be around people who understand what you are feeling. You will learn how to recognize the symptoms of being stuck in grief and that you do not need to live in bondage to certain emotions. You will learn valuable information about facing your new normal in life and renewing your hope for the future. Confidentiality is very important to this program.

GriefShare meets on Monday evenings 7:00-9:00 in 13 week cycles. Please call for more information.

Contact Pastor Larry Miller at the church office to learn more about GriefShare. To learn more about the national program, visit www.griefshare.org.

Nursery Tapes

In addition, tapes of the Morning Worship Service are duplicated and placed in the office each week for nursery workers who have missed services because of their ministry with the nursery.

Men's Ministry

We want to facilitate growth in the lives of the men in our church. There are opportunities available to stimulate the growth of men:

Men's Fellowship

The Men’s Fellowship is a great opportunity for the men of our church to become better acquainted with one another and to grow spiritually. We would like to extend an invitation to all the men to join us at 7:00 a.m. Coffee is provided, and we conclude promptly at 8:00 a.m. Hazards Of Being A Man
Being a man is hazardous. When the opportunity comes to learn from someone else's mistake instead of making your own, take it! Men have been struggling with the same problems since biblical times. From well-known men like Adam and Samson to more obscure men like Achan and Elkanah, the Bible is filled with stories of men facing the hazards that men still face today. Hazards of Being a Man tackles twelve hazards all men face and paints a compelling picture of how to live as a better man. Pastor Jeffrey E. Miller, who based this book on his popular and successful series on Bible.org, gives to field-tested advice on the way out of these common male hazards: Deflecting Responsibility Manipulation Misplaced Priorities Individualism Lust Insensitivity Absence Partial Obedience Unresolved Anger Discontentment Unteachability Unchecked Motives With questions for individual study or group discussion, Hazards of Being a Man offers you a way to start living better--as a husband, father, single, colleague, leader, or friend--today. Jeffrey E. Miller is senior pastor of Trinity Bible Church in Richardson, Texas.

Discipleship

In 2 Timothy 2:1-2, the Apostle Paul encourages Timothy to: "...be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, these entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also." One-on-one discipleship or mentoring is available upon request.

Men's Barbecue

The men gather annually for a barbecue, this year in October. Watch What's New on the home page.

Clay Crosse This year's speaker at the Men's Barbecue is Clay Cross, a three-time Dove Award winner including the 1994 New Artist of the year. He has had 9 #1 songs including “I Surrender All,” “He Walked a Mile,” “I Will Follow Christ,” and "Saving The World." Clay and his wife Renee have been married since 1990 and are blessed with four children. Clay will be speaking on his ministry called Holy Homes.
Clay and Renee, through their ministry HolyHomes, speak at various seminars and conferences nationwide along with his extensive concert schedule. Holy Homes Ministries challenges Christian homes to be less like the world and more like Christ. This dynamic ministry was founded by Clay and Renee Crosse after they went through a life changing recommitment to Christ in 1998.

Prayer Team

Each week the members of the prayer team receive a weekly prayer sheet that lists the specific requests for the week. Throughout the week intercession is made on behalf of those listed on this sheet. What a privilege to bring these requests before God and to praise Him for the many answers to prayer that He has provided. If you are interested in joining the team, sign up at the information table in the church foyer.

Seniors

Our Seniors group is called "New Beginnings." New Beginnings endeavors to meet the challenges God puts before us. Our purpose will be to promote fellowship, give opportunities to share spiritual growth, be of service to our fellow man, and encourage one another in love.

Our group meets at the church every 3rd Friday at 10:30, except in the months of July and August. We offer a program, lunch, and fellowship. Our programs are Christ-centered, and we offer a variety of musical programs, speakers, and entertainers.

Our family-style lunches are home cooked by Mrs. Pitlok. Family-style enables a great opportunity to get to know each other.

All Seniors are welcome. No one will be turned away.

The only expense for the program is the cost of the luncheon.

It is important to RSVP to the church prior to the event.

Small Groups

For the first 300 years, the church didn’t have small groups– it was small groups. The early church gave us a model for meeting the physical, spiritual, emotional, and social needs of believers. In today’s busy, disconnected world, there is great need to return to these simple principals for growing healthy relationships and steadfast faith. A small group is not just a Bible study; it is a place to grow together intimately through shared prayer, vision, and resources. As we grow closer to God together, we will be more effective in reaching out to our community in the future.

Purpose

Small Groups purpose is to develop disciples of Jesus Christ who love and care for one another, who know God's Word and its application in their own lives and are willing to reach out to others with the love of Christ in their community.

Caring

We desire to multiply leaders and groups so that every member and attender of Grace Fellowship Church has a place to be cared for, is able to understand and enhance the process of their spiritual growth, has opportunity to minister to others personally and desires to influence others with the reality of the gospel.

Emphasis

We endeavor to emphasize four basic areas of small group ministry within our group meetings in order to accomplish our purpose. These basics are:

  • Bible study and application
  • Life sharing and caring
  • Prayer
  • Outreach

Each of these areas has an important role in molding relationships within the groups to be genuine relationships of love and truth for the mutual discipleship of members.

Want to get involved in a small group near you? Contact the church office.

Women's Ministries

The Grace Women's Ministry exists to provide encouragement and community to the women of Grace Fellowship Church leading to growth and maturity in Christ, service in our homes and church, and outreach to the world.

Women's Bible Study

Our Women’s Bible studies meet to encourage one another to be faithful in prayer and the study of God’s word, to know Christ better and to become more like Him, and to build friendships among women. To accomplish these goals we meet with a format that includes devotionals, discussion of a prepared lesson and a time of prayer.

Tuesday Studies

Becoming A Woman Who Loves  Do you strive to be a person after God's own heart? In Becoming a Woman Who Loves, Cynthia Heald focuses on Christ's command to "love one another," and shows how we can follow his example of sacrificial, unconditional, and passionate caring. Her in-depth study includes Scripture passages, study questions, and thought-provoking quotations to help equip you for serious discipleship.
